If your employer is stealing your wages you are not alone. In a multistate study, The Economic Policy Institute found that “2.4 million workers lose $8 billion annually (an average of $3,300 per year for year-round workers) to minimum wage violations—nearly a quarter of their earned wages. This form of wage theft affects 17 percent of low-wage workers, with workers in all demographic categories being cheated out of pay.”
The study just affirms my experience representing workers in California’s Silicon Valley. Wage theft impacts the poor more than others, but every demographic is effected, from day laborers to executives. I have represented gardeners, janitors, restaurant workers, constructions workers, engineers, lawyers, doctors, computer programmers, (even a kung fu master trafficked from China* ) in hundreds of cases over the past 10 years. If you suffer wage theft please call me (408)466-5845. Everyone is treated with respect.
